Clarendon Hills was founded by Roman Bratasiuk in 1989 and has become one of Australia’s most distinctive producers of single-vineyard Syrah. Astralis is the estate’s flagship wine, sourced from an old-vine vineyard planted around 1920 and produced with a minimal-intervention philosophy.
The 2016 Astralis Syrah is exceptionally concentrated and complex, showing blackberry, dark cherry and liquorice alongside mocha, graphite, herbs and savoury spice. Powerful yet refined, the palate combines dense fruit with firm, finely structured tannins and remarkable length, with considerable potential for further bottle ageing.
